Series 3 with fourtrax 2.5 will 2.8 td fit

Hi
I asked this question some time ago but didn't get a lot of response so I'm trying again .
I have a series 3 with an early Daihatsu fourtrax 2.5.
I'm thinking to replace with a later Daihatsu 2.8 TD .
Doese anyone know if this is straight forward is the 2.8 basically the same engine as the earlier 2.5 ?

No idea. If you wanted to fit another LR engine there's plenty of knowledge on here but not as many people like jap stuff.

Try posting the question on a fortrak forum, I found out most of mi transit stuff on a transit forum when I was considering a ford engine.
