I have a Series 2a... I love the look of it, but I would like to swap out the grill and headlight location to match that of a Series 3.

I do a lot of night driving in my 2a, and would feel better with the Series 3 headlight placement.

A lot of people would say "keep it original" but this is my preference for what I use it for....

So my question... looking on Rover North, it appears I could just buy the following:

1. Series 3 wings with the headlight opening (plus bezels)

2. Series 3 center piece with the 2a headlight holes being deleted.

3. Series 3 metal grill.

Is there anything I'm missing? It seems pretty straight forward. All the parts are around $1,000.

Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It was popular at one time here in UK to keep the center lamps and also have the ones in the wings for more lighting, this was before aftermarket more powerful lamps became available.
Late 2a models had the headlamps in the wings same as series 3 but had a metal grill called a Maltese grill not the plastic job of the series 3.
The whole wing does not need changing just the front panel.
If you do change what is a mostly nut and bolt job, Keep the removed parts and it can then go back to original

Don't know if it's as simple as just unbolting the front panel.
Pretty sure when I did mine, they were a mix of bolt's, rivets and spot welds.

^^ this one is what I would be doing in your situation. not to everyone's taste but I quite like it. Rather than completely changing the front end. (Photo from this thread on swapping front ends: LINK)

I would also advocate for this option if you do remove the centre lights as it is more in keeping with a series 2 than a 3 and I have done the opposite and fitted one to my series 3 as I am not a fan of the plastic grills.

i just put my spotties in the place of the headlights as i had a crash and needed to replace the front guards, and i went with some decent series 3 ones.
