I inherited this -74/88" with shot engine, 2.25 D. I ran across this 2.8 TD taken out from a Series car. I need help identifying/how to wire these parts. 1st pic is what I believe the fule cut solenoid. How should this be wired,? To the ignition? Right now only 1 (white) wire coming up.

2nd pic, my best guess is a Glow Plug "HOT" indicator. 2 wires on this one. What does it do and how is it wired?

3d pic. Glow Plug relay, with Black to the Glow Plugs. There are 4 terminals on the bottom, 30, 85, 86, 87. A pic of the bottom would help, I know.. Terminals are 2 bigger and 2 normal. I guess 1 of the bigger ones goes to ignition/battery. What do I do with the other ones?

Sorry for being rubbish with diesels.

They go to a 12v bulb mounted in the dash somewhere, lamp 'on' glowplug circuit is live. It will just tell you the glowplugs are getting power not that they are working though.

Ok, so not light on = heating glow plugs, ligth off = time to crank?
Thanks
No.
I'm fairly sure that that's not a timer relay. The glows will glow for as long as you press the button, you'll have to guess how long to press the button according to ambient temperature. Hot engine= no heat
Cold engine but warm day= 5 secs?
Cold engine and cold day= 10 secs?
Cold engine minus ambient= 15 secs?
The light just tells you you are pressing the button.

Related question.
I'm guessing the glow plug resistor will be redundant? 2 wires coming out from the bulk head harness; the larger Red can be connected to the relay, ter 30? The smaller one, brown/black (? I think) to terminal 86? Wife suggests I stay away from all/anything electric, due to a sad experience with a dishwasher some 25 years back. Like an elephant, she doesn't forget...

Now when looking at the blown up pic, I see also a white/blue wire. Where is this one going?

Is that the daihatsu resister?
You'll have to use it if it is.
Got family round at the moment, more turkey dinner:D
I'll take a closer look at your post later.

Nope, it's the one used for the 2,25 D. I'm thinking this 2.8 engine won't be needing the resistor, and the existing wiring could be used wiring the relay/glow plugs. Enjoy turkey dinner, it's Pizza time here in a few minutes

Ok, so far I managed to get power to the starter solenoid, which has been eluding me for a while. I took the ignition down and found out a PO for some reason had cut the W/R wire and replaced with a blue. Got that back together, cranking works fine now. Also wired the glowplug relay, as described above. @Flossie, hope Turkey is gone now "86 can be a push button supply if you don't have the glowplug position on your ign switch." I´d like to try this (I assume I don´t have a glowplug posistion on my ignition, as the fat brown/Red is hot only when I crank the starter). Glow plug "indicator", 2nd pic above, if redundant will be deleted.
I will be back, stay tuned - thanks
