I am currently in Abersoch on the Llyn peninsula and I think I may have the early signs of distributor issues. I will be driving 120miles back to Cuddington on Sunday. I have just checked my spares kit under the seat and my points and condenser are not with me. Would anyone know where I could purchase any of the following spares; points / condenser / dizzy cap, electronic conversion, or even a distributor?
It may be a case of cleaning everything and crossing my fingers.
Many thanks.

The only place I can think of that will be open Sunday is Halfords. They may have some dizzy parts. There is one in Bangor not far from the Tesco just off the A55 and one in Llandudno I think it is more towards the town center in one of the retail parks. I think the next one is round Rhyll , it's been a while but I used to go to Halfords regularly to fix IT equipment.

Having been in a similar situation on the south Coast, a Sunday, 90 miles from home and a burst heater hose, I taped it up and did a search on google maps for "car spares near me" and it brought up an independent motor factors a few miles away. Made it with 30 mins to spare. He had spare heater hose, anti-freeze and even let me get cleaned up! So try google maps just in case.

Thank you guys. I set off after cleaning the contacts and spraying with electrical switch cleaner. It stopped on the hard shoulder of the A55 (scary) but went again after removing the dizzy cap cleaning and replacing. I pulled off and went on the old coast road. Approximately 10-12 unplanned stops and repeats later, I was home luckily. Note to myself always check the parts box under the passenger seat. Spares are no good in the garage at home when you are 100+ miles away. I think I’ll rebuild the dizzy for spares and fit an electronic one.

Glad you got back ok in the end
