Hi, my name is gareth, i have recently fitted a discovery 200tdi engine in my series 3 rax exempt landrover. I want to convert my brake shoes to disc brakes, the cost is a bit too much for me. I was wondering if anybody anywhere can tell me if any other discs would work off other vehicles. Please let me know a.s.a.p as i am desperate for the conversion. Thanks
gareth.

Its possibly cheaper and easier to just buy a Discovery axle and convert it to fit leaf springs! (my next project)

Bump.

I intend on doing a 90 front axle however I want to put drums back on it Weird I know its for offroad only 80 inch no servo or owt. I might have a look see this weekend see if I can getthe front axle mounted up.

surely disks are better off-road as they are self cleaning? or at least they are relative to shoes?

have you tried to brake without any servo assistance? I'll stick to me drums. If they're serviced they will be fine It'll be ok aslong as I riop them apart after each event wash em out will be fine! same as I do for my 90 rear's tbh.

I agree Discs need less maintainance but hey it'll make me look over the mota after each event and assess what needs sorting fixing or whatever

Why don't you stick a servo on it too - that's what i'm doing right now! That's a dead simple swap to do - i've swapped the whole pedal box for the brake out

80 inch series 1 with the brake master under the seatbox. I could put on inline however trying to keep costs down and Drums will do the job nicley
