Just got myself a 1981 series 3. I beleive it's a 109, ex army. I've been hunting for one for ages. A few small areas need attention but the majority of the truck is sound. It was laying at the bottom of a yard for 2 years and I spotted it while passing one day. I got the landy which has a truck cab fitted and also a full length hard top for £250! Not bad I thought. I plan to get her all sorted out and moted then Im off for a bit of off roading in it........... Anyone and trick, tips or info about pit falls with the series 3. I relativly new to land rovers..........

Best Regards......

mines ex mili check my profile pic and ive done an awful lot of work on it myself so feel free with the questions and will try to help

Thanks Dr Pepper and Landybloke, you can bet I'll be on here asking questions all the time. Like the look of your 109 landtbloke, thats what I hope mine will end up like. I'll put some images up on another thread for everyone to see.

hello mate , the body looks really straight and going by the front it certainly looks ex mili but i see you have a civilian rear cross member, mili ones are normally straight right the way across instead of tapering at the ends but who knows it may have been replaced for a civi one , but once the work is done it looks like you have got a nice one in the making, dont be fooled by the pic of mine , mechanically its very good but the paintwork has not been touched since it was demobbed and there are dents galore.......all of which im sure could tell a story plus the odd bullet hole for good measure one of some note is in the chassis just behind the front ns wheel , we are all here to help so when your ready fire away (excuse the punn) !
