Series 2 Series 2A or Series 3?

Hi Everyone,

I am a defender enthusiast and looking to purchase my first landrover. I have identified the attached car. However, I am unsure if it is a landrover 2 series or 3? From the inclusion of a dashboard, it appears to be a series 3. Also, the back of the car has a protuding bar which I assume is for an additional wheel? The bonnet already has the spare wheel. Would be grateful for your thoughts as well as any general tips/things to look out for.

I don't see anything 2A in those photos

Looks like a s3, but you will need better quality close up pics to confirm.
Bulkhead screen mounts and interior suggest s3.
What country is the car in?

it looks to be series the front (plastic) vent and the dashboard as well as door hinges would all suggest a S3.spare wheel can mount on back door or bonnet. this is a five door station wagon a majestic beast. a good buy to go along with it is the book Land Rover series I II III maintenance and upgrades by Richard hall .however he says these(SW )"are not the best platform for a first restoration "as some parts hard to come by " but i would have to say i would take such a complete example home if i had the chance .

The hand brake and gear lever are s3 too, along with the sills
