hello all.
ive just started the restoration of a series 2 109 and was looking for some help in decoding the chassis number, on the MOT from years passed its recorded as a 1959 model but the logbook says first registration 1982,
i was hoping someone could tell me the year from the chassis number so i can contact the dvla.
chassis number is 27601074A

many thanks

An 8 didget with suffix is year 62-79...first 3 numbers show model and spec 241-354 is S2/a the last 5 is serial number and the suffix is design mods...the year of manufacture is not shown in an 8 didgit chassis number...after 79 vin was introduced...

It's not a '59. That 276 chassis number denotes a 1962 build year. If there is a discrepancy between the chassis number it has now on your V5c and what is recorded on old mot certs absolutley do not contact dvlc without speaking to the Vehicle Registrations Officer from the Series 2 club. You will open up a whole can of whoop ass on yourself if you voluntarily tell Dvlc you have a discrepancies.
