Hi,
My automatic gear-shift/reverse light unit is not working for some time now, and has been bypassed by my mechanic. This means that if I am not careful, I can start the car in any gear and also that I don't have reverse lights when I shift to R. Does anyone know the serial number of this part and the approx. cost of a replacement? It's a 98 D1 diesel.
Cheers

Wow, I could almost buy a donor vehicle for that amount. The refurb service sounds good, but I'm not in the UK, so it will require shipping and waiting for it to return.
Will try to find one locally, I guess.

Don't bother with the above as that info is incorrect, you require RTC4937 still expensive for what it is, and not including possible carriage to Israel.

Mine did the same and local garage (it was right at the start of a 3 week show at our stables so didn't do it myself) told me it was the XYZ & replaced the above switch & changed the oil + filter in the box.

Oh well, at least I tried.

The D1 doesnt have XYZ switch cos that's used for electronic automatic transmission like for example on the D2 or P38 where the switch works together with an ECU
