Why would anyone want to steal his sons?

Me Doris says that turning over but not starting is standard on landies anyway! :D

someone previously fitted one in mine, I use it from time to time depending on where I'm leaving the landy ,like buckshot said, make one yourself for a fraction of the cost :)

I guess it isolates the fuel solenoid on the fip. Pretty bad build quality by the looks of it - crimped terminals with exposed 'end bits'. That'll fail as soon as it gets wet!!

Yeah must be fuel solenoid, can't think of anything else it could be.

Also agree with everyone else, you could do a much better job a lot cheaper by buying your own switch.

fit a kill switch on your battery put it where you can reach it if your in trouble but out of sight of the avrage thieving toerag and remove the key when you leave your LR, they cost around £6 two jobs half the price.

Quite a neat idea actually, provided the switch was adequately hidden though.

I found out just how effective turning the IP solenoid off was this morning when I couldn't start my Tdi, had a look under the bonnet and as I suspected the wire had fallen off the terminal. Really need to fix that :D

What a rip-off! £12 for a 99p switch and a couple of crimp terminals. I really wish I'd thought of it first!

As everyone else has said - it'll be a switch in the feed to the fuel solenoid. Dead easy to do it yourself.

He says they wont work on TD5s. What a load of bollox. Just shows how much he knows. What he means is he dont know how to do it.

Dont be thinking that a simple switch in the fuel solenoid will stop your motor being driven away. Its the first thing they hotwire before cranking.

:blabla:This would be a really good security devise if I could convince the wife to stag on:

I dont see the point in crap like that. If you are worried about security and want to imobilise it then get a proffesional unit fitted. You can get a CAT 2 imobiliser fitted for under £100 and get a certificate and a guarantee as well as knowing its done right. Or go all the way and get a CAT 1 alarm and imobiliser as i did cost a lot more but it keeps my landy safe. Oh i know if somebody wants to steal it and they know what they are doing it is off cant stop that but it will keep 99% of the little ****s from stealing it

Its a good idea in theory but if you lay under your defender you can actually see the wiring to the stop solenoid so wouldnt take a genius to bypass it taking a feed from sidelights.
