seatbelt warning lamp ??

hello,

just noticed theres a seatbelt warning light in the dash board.

was this only for newer models or what as ive never seen it light up, even on the short occasion when i dont where my seatbelt, i wonder if its been disconnected from the seat or something ?

im sure there meant to light up if you havent got your belt on when you drive off ?

can someone comfirm this ?
