:crazy_driver:Good on yer..hope the earache from the missus has eased off!! Really pleased that you have enjoyed taking the motor for a spin...you've earned it!!

Just take things a bit of a time and you will soon be like the rest of us, always finding things to do, but hopefully nothing serious. Keep your eye on the coolant level in the meantime till you are 100% sure that things have settled down. How's the idle speed now, any better? Have you tried running on petrol??

the tick over is a little better when driving and stoping in drive its 750rpm but in neutral or park it goes up to around 1100-1200 rpm still not tried it on petrol yet done trip on lpg ran fine will keep eye on the coolant also i have noticed after driving the screw lid on the coolant bottle seems to be letting air out hear it easily sshhshhshhs lol tried to tighten it but its as tight as it goes and im 100% its the lid so does this mean new one if its letting pressure out or is this maybe pressure thats still needing to come out!! forgot to say it did take 1 litre exactly before i left i thought that was quite a bit but maybe not if the airlock was big i will check when engine cools down again

750 is about right but it should be there or thereabouts in park & neutral..may be different on petrol...at least you can stay mobile. The engine, aircon and gearbox ecu's have a bearing on the idle speed as the ecu increases the idle speed to compensate for the additional load . Regarding the coolant cap, simplest and cheapest first step is to replace the cap and take it from there

Really glad your getting to enjoy p38 motoring there a pleasure when going right dont think theres a better car on the road and ive had a few4x4s well done for sticking at it
Cheers Alan
