I tried to buy it. They were only contactable via email (the mobile she gave me is constantly on answerphone). When I said I would come and pick it up she said she would send it free of charge to me via the comapany whe worked for and I could pay cash on collection. SHe emailed me today and sai I had to buy some "paypoint voucher". I had to reply to an invoice sent to me (with a parcelforce logo on it) with the voucher number and they would release the parcel. I still didnt understand how this would work so I phoned parcelforce and they told me this was a scam and not to continue with the sale. I have since contacted the person incase it was actually them being scammed and they were just passing on information, but surprise surprise no reply!

THe invoice sent was cobbled together with the parcelforce logo on, when you look at it its pretty obvious it is a scam.

Gumtree seems to be rife with scams...I was selling some camera gear a couple of years ago and was sent fake PayPal notices saying payment had been received but wouldn't be released 'til proof of postage was sent...they always seem to be in Nigeria too...

Thankfully I didn't fall for it but I imagine there are many, particularly elderly people who will...real scum!
