Hi Guys,

As some of you will know already my son, Kai, is embarking on a series III 109 rebuild. The chassis is shot and we have sourced another rolling chassis that looks pretty good. He has told me that, having read through articles in magazines and on the forums he wants to galvanise the chassis before starting to build onto it. From what I have seen this sounds like a good idea.

Question... What are the pitfalls, is any, of sandblasting and galvanising? Anyone have any idea of costs or entities in the south of england (say Birmingham south) that have a good reputation among land rover owners for this sort of thing?

Thanks for any advice.

East Anglia Galvanising which are Peterborough direction are very good. I went to my local fabricators and they added my bits to a load they were sending to them. For £46 inc Vat they blasted and dipped: 2x steering box covers, 3 under wing bulkhead splash guards, rear light guards, tow hitch & mount and the two rear cross member handles which I think was pretty good value!
