Yea I think later ones may have the Td4 in them and earlier ones had a 1.8 or 1.9 Peugot but most have the 'L'series diesel which is in yours, and mine.

There should be loads in breakers and they must be cheaper.

The engine was also in Maestro and Montegos of all models including vans but they were not electronically controlled pumps so won't do the job I don't think.

By the way it's all sensible advice on here, just that some of it is extreme.

I haven't felt the need to torch the Hippo yet but there is still time.

thanks a lot, will check that out.
yes, i got good advice from the guys but i enjoyed the banter at the same time. i've got thick skin!
can get a recon for 590 but that seems a bit much although a 2 year warranty. come to think of it maybe its not recon, the time they bump the vat on.
cheers;)

just thinking, a peugot pump would probably be good, these deisel peugots seem to go on forever.
its certainly given me food for thought. will speak to the landy mechanic (independent) i know what he'll say about using a recon 1 but hey, its not his cash.

Peugot pump won't fit.

The L series is a perkins engine and I think its got a Bosch pump but the pump is the same or switchable for all L series as far a s I know.
