hello you guys, well all i can say is you lot are ruthless!...funny but ruthless!
what do you think about putting a reconditioned fuel injection pump in?
not sure if thats economising or not but a grand is not available to me just now!!!
engine revs up to about 3thousand revs when idling (sometimes) and on changing gears.
cruising with foot just on pedal, the bucket pauses for a split second. foot down hard or lift off...its fine.
had vc, fuel sensor replaced in last few weeks...should be skint by about november.
what do you all think? is it def the fuel inj pump?
its a 1999 di. love it to bits but....i know!!! its a gaylander!!!!
cheers

yep all filters done..in fact its had 2 fuel filters on in the last 5 months just to make sure!!
injectors have been checked and are ok too

like i said.....ruthless!!!
do you think a reconditioned fuel pump would do or is that a waste of time ?
will it need to be a new one?
i'm determined i'm gonna get the damn thing running sweet

saw one on a website 'john craddock'
£500, im assumin its recon.
2 year garantee, its certainly gonna outlive the dud thats in it the now!

Hey same name stevieb!
rimmer quotes are for fuel pumps not fuel injection pumps (unfortunately!) BBBiiiiiggggg difference.
to be honest i'm looking for the cheapest way possible to get the bucket back to normal if that ever possible!!
thanks anyway..i am aware of rimmer bros tho. searched everywhere. ebay has one but oooh....just don't know about that 1.
we have a really good salvage yard in fife scot. might try there.
cheers

cheers man, will update when i eventually find one cheap enough.
i should mention that i have a really good landy mechanic who can spot a problem just by hearing me drive into his yard!! (oh, here comes my holiday money!!!!)
seriously, he is 100% genuine and keeps urging me to get a td4, although he assures me he's never had to replace an engine in my model yet!!! there could be a 1st time for everything tho
by the way guys i am NOT a hooray henry as you suggested to someone who uses mechanics, just crap at diy mechanics!!
where in scotland are you stevieb?;)

And of course there is also the old addage that "****E DONT BURN" :D
which is complete bollocks, just ask bushtuckertwat he'll tell yer . lots of nomadic tribes and such like use cattle dung fer fuel on their fires. abo's have bin know to use roo poo. and the red injuns of ameryankland used buffalo plop fer fuel.

hey you lot! lay off my bucket!!!
i'm out the closet and proud!!

what exactly is a proper landy anyway, tell me (this'll be good!!!!!!)

i don't believe anyone has a proper landy they're all sh***
but they're great when they are going.
speakin of sh***, mine goes like that off a shovel even with the dud fuel pump!
christy its gonna be lethal once its sorted!!!!!!

ruthless you lot are, ruthless

Proper landy's are the ones who's ancestors can be traced back through the mists oftime to when the name was born in solihull all those years ago.
They didnt have an image of a jumped up rover 400 in those days..just a good proper machine that can be fixed wi hammers and screwdrivers.
So thers yer answer

last time i drove one like that i had to change gears with my foot!! it was the only way to shift the gear stick! and you think the gay one is bad!!!!
he he he he
