Thanks Tom.

well im just going up there (hopefully) on my own for a look around really mate. never been myself so going out of interest. what you driving?

Just be aware my mate works for the M.O.D police and they are now working with the local cops in the area to do checks on all 4x4's using the plain due to the amount of landys being nicked and i'm sure he said there gonna be dipping tanks aswell, there gonna be doing this until the end of Easter.
Just thought i'd give you a heads up.

no im having a nightmare. got the 2" lift done, insa special trax 265's on and the a-bar on the front to protect the allisport intercooler. winch bumper turned up fine but the winch turned out to be 2000lb not 12000 lb! so thats just waste now and had spacers fitted to get my lock back and the friggin wheels fell off so not going too well at the moment. should all be done and ready for this weekend tho

p.s cheers for the heads up muddy gonzo

not really the place to go just for a look unless yr equipped with an os map or similar..you may stray where you dont want to and can quickly get stuck and if your on yr own what ya gonna do then?

i got the land ranger maps, sat nav, compass and a printed pic of the areas i want to look at from the air so im sure ill be ok with the 'getting lost' bit. and sure the getting stuck bit comes into it sometimes but i have no friends :violin::5bbigear:

many places on the plain have no phone signal. Also the plain changes day to day. Knowing how far out of date google earth is I wouldn't rely on it too much. The drivability of each nad every lane also varies dramatically. One day you can do a stretch with no problems, the next day you'll get stuck. It all depends on what the weather has been like and who else has used the plains recently.
