My bro used to comp safari hs special with welded rear diff he also used it on the road for quite a long time as it was road legal it was always ok you drive to the vehicles attributes. It comes down to experience if you expect what could happen i.e a locker, locking up mid bend, you are ready for it if you go nuts and hammer around every corner like these silly young-uns in their corsa's you will end up missing the corner. If you drive sensible you will be ok. (I Like detroits they help **** off the local boy racers on a wet day. Their face is amazed when a landy pulls away from the lights while they are spinning their lil wheels going nowhere. Ow I do hate the over the top fiberglassed bodied, distorted bass pumping, 1.2L, slammed corsa's. I hate Em!

We once fitted a race tuned 1.6 cavilier 8 valve into an old red Rusty 1.0 badged Vauxhall nova, everything stripped off of it no bumpers no side skirts just the bare minimum on new but skinny standard tyres. We took it to southend we did arf **** off some people especially some sierra cosworth that we kept up with all the way home! Jai

No way we were doing 155Mph more like 128Mph at 3am If I remember the Cossy driver come past us at 95 so we kept up and up and up until he bottled it the driver of the nova was a very experienced driver. Things we did tut tut!

Have investigared and Detroit is £350 and ARB is over £600 plus you need to get compressed air on board, which i dont want to do! Detroit will do the job fine, they don't lock on the road when you don't want them to and they do when the mud gets claggy!

Hi Oddi mate its the wrong way round a detroit is always LOCKED and unlocks when you need it to (hopefully) should only be used on rear axle for this reason:D
