had a search and can't find an answer so thought id ask here...

just fitted a safari snorkel to my 300 tdi. the destructions that came with it said to permanently seal the rubber cover on the water trap t-piece. obviously it makes sense to do that, the whole point of fitting a raised intake is so you can wade and sit in water above the level of the trap.

my question is, what if some water gets in through the ram at the top - I know it unlikely. do I just hope it evaporates over time? even in winter when it's wet and cold the whole time? was wondering if any of you guys check periodically/remove a piece of the flexihose to see if there's any water in there and to let it drain out.

cheers in advance...

is that the thing at tidworth? yeah, had a quick look at what folks are saying and sounds good. wots it like there?

did you ever put up the pics you took of us doing the deep water bit last sunday?

I have a cheaper safari copy (can't turn top round. And I must've sealed it too well because I drove through heave sleet and then driving rain. Felt power go on the motorway and stopped to look (had fears of this) and the airbox had filled right up so filter was soaked (had paper one now replaced with k&n) had to poke a couple of drain holes out and let it drain before swapping filter and diving on. I've just left a couple of drain holes out and completely seal with going offroading

I do have to 300tdi airbox though.
