Hi everyone;
had my s111 for 2 weeks now, said wasnt going to do anything with it, but bought a complete 200tdi lump yesterday(£200 cudnt turn it down), anybody got any info on parts i,m going to need, engine comes with rad and i/cooler but i no i,m going to need other thing,s. My local landy man jeff has givn me a bit of a list but has anyone got any good tips on what might fit, i dont want it to look out of place, dont fancy the KnN filter look, wud rather try and adapt something to look sort of factory if poss. Any help would be most appreciated, thanx
Dave

Thanx for that andy, i,m collecting parts at the min, have you had any experience with these engines, i,m just hoping for somthing more userfriendly, i love how my s111 looks and feels, just hate the feeling i,m killing it to keep up with kids on pedal bike,s !
cheers
Dave:)

Yeah plenty :)

They will pull a Series with 3.54 RR diffs no problem, so feel like a sports car with normal gearing. If you are gentle on the throttle you will see into the 30s mpg as well.

It is possible to do the whole conversion using all LR parts, you will have to modify some of them but it will pay dividends in the end.

Hi andy, opening another can of worms here but do you think it would be worth running without the turbo, heard a few reports from "they are a wonderfull engine without" to "it wont last 5 mins without". My heads a bit batterd at the min, we are coverd in snow in sunderland at the min and the landy,s proving perfect as standard, i just no when the weather breaks i,ll be back where i started.
cheers
confused Dave:confused:

They are very under stressed without the turbo and so will give years of service like that, however, personally I don't really see the point as most of the horse power and torque gains are from the turbo and intercooler.

:confused:Thanx again andy, so if i use the turbo do you think its worth de-tunning it a little, i,m kinda paranoid about breaking transmision parts, its easy saying be gentle with my right foot but i no what i,m like, if the powers there, i,ll use it
cheers again

old guy i used to work with once told me the only gear you should thrash a motor is top ;)

Wise words i,m sure but all it takes is a quick flex of the right ankle and it could be goodnite gearbox/diff/halfshaft, if the power,s not there i cant bustamicate it can i ?
cheers
Dave

why not just get yer self a fender and save all the **** and grief
tbh i been that route many years ago did a v8 convertion on a 2A was a good learning curve and good fun driving for a year or so , but would never go back to a series (dont think my back could take it anyway :D)
