Gotta agree DVSE .5 vehicles went out Sunday to sort out the route.Boomer/ZAN,DVSE mrs and dog,Robin,Drewster mrs and daughter and myself and daughter. Now i'm sure we could have all found other things to do on a cold rainey Sunday........plus all the background organisation that goes into it ffs.

I'm sure I speak for us all when I say the safest way is not to come if your that concerned about it

Nelly - I hope that was the booze talking last night, else you are showing yourself to be a complete prat. In any event, it is useful to know who has what, so that groups can have a range of facilities. It is useful for, at least those at the front and the back to have CB's to cover the occasional straggler or breakdown. Even to cover the mundain task of opening/closing gates and crossing busy blind junctions. It would also be useful to have at least one vehicle in a group with the knowledge and equipment to conduct a recovery. You know full well what it is like, being stupid enough to go out laning, with inadequate cover, no recovery equipment, and little means of communication. I am sure if you want some "serious offroading" in your 110, the guys checking the lanes can show you some nice deep puddles in Salisbury and we can all watch you showing us how it should be done :D.

please please:D:D:rolleyes::D:D

I hope as Daft said that was the booze talking last night.

Well guys and gals, we've spent today doing a recce for this trip and have some nice non damaging lanes which will definitely cater for the inexperienced/shiny off roader. ;)

As Ratty indicated in a previous post, we cannot guarantee that shiny paint might gain a light scratch or two - but it's no worse than pulling in to let someone pass on a narrow country lane.

If you read what Ratty posted at the start of THIS thread (not what Robint started) you will see that this trip is aimed at NEWBIS (i.e inexpereinced) and for those who want keep their landy's in school run condition:D.

Yoos can always organise yur own trips if yu don't like whats on offer

This is not the first trip we have organised, but if you feel you have more expereince than us, we would love to hear you words of vast wisdom!

Now we know that a lot of peeps have asked for a place on this trip - I'm sorry to ask this but please can those who have done so post again with the following info:
  • What type of Landy you own.
  • Is it standard spec or modified.
  • Whether you have any off road experience .
  • How many peeps are likely to be in the car.
  • Do you have a CB.
Do not worry - This info will help us to put together groups which we hope will be relatively balanced in driver/vehicle capability.

We need to know who has what so that if we get into any unforeseen situations (unlikely but it can happen) we can, AS A GROUP, get out of it. This is what off-roading is all about - TEAMWORK.

5 vehicles went out Sunday to sort out the route. Boomer, Zan, DVSE, mrs and dog, Robin, Drewster, mrs and daughter and myself and daughter.
Now i'm sure we could have all found other things to do on a cold rainey Sunday........plus all the background organisation that goes into it ffs.

I know I could have found something better to do on a rainy Sunday, but instead we all went out to plan our routes, cheack terrain, ground clearences, track widths (how close the bushes are getting) and a rough time scale.

Maybe this not the trip for you at all. We had hoped to have a few peaple with some experience to at as back up crew, to offer advice and help pull out.
Also we are going to give those with the expereince (and the balls) a bit of fun to show the newbies what they could get up to if they wanted to take landying a bit further
But as this seems below you and your capabilities we will not be offended if you pull out.
Maybe when you organise your first trip we will be on hand to offer you advice.
