Any recommendations for
someone to treat the chassis/underside of my Defender in the Manchester area?
I am unable to do the job myself as l don't have access to a ramp.
l can't find anywhere local, they all seem to have closed down (Chassis Clean, Rustbuster)
"Before n After" seems popular (his website booking system is full until October) but he's a 300 mile round trip from here.
Anybody had any experience with them? As in, did they rustproof your Land Rover and was it OK
Otherwise is there anywhere else
in Manchester or High Peak that anyone knows about.
There's a Dinitrol "approved" centre in Oldham but the website is clunky and doesn't look to have been updated recently.
Anyone used "Rochdale Vehicle Rustproofing" in Oldham?

Nobody know of anybody who can do this any more?
l wonder why they've all closed, maybe because modern cars don't need it.

Man alive dont start this up again....

Before n After has been done to death on this forum...

Because it's a filthy job and few want to do this. I did mine at home, it's not difficult, it just takes time with methodical working and needing full ground sheet covering and lots of rubber bungs to stop the Dinitrol ML running out before it set to a wax film. I was quoted £600-800 for my internal chassis...I thought, "bugger that..." I'll save the money and have a days fun. It actually takes a full week of staged work...

  1. Jet wash out chassis
  2. Let to thoroughly dry for a week - here, I used a dehumidifier and increased ambient heat
  3. Sprayed rust neutraliser to all chassis internal sections and dried for a few days
  4. Sprayed Dinitrol ML using their Land Rover can kit which comes supplied with lance extensions
  5. Inspected and removed bungs

Thank you for the replies, l did know about B&A from previous threads.

They are too far from me anyway. l will try Dinitrol, it's not something l am prepared to take on myself.
