Ruptured EAS pipes

Hey folks, had a bit of a mishap in the week and was hoping to get some input on what might have caused it.

Pic is worth a thousand words, this is just in front of the rear passengers wheel.

Edit: After lookin at it a bit more I reckon it might have been the exhaust box I just replaced, there was a fairly big hole facing roughly the direction of the pipes...possibly heat weakened the lines?

The plastic pipes don't like heat, that'l be your problem.

Didn't realise how bad the exhaust was until I took it off.

Anyone confirm the pipes on the back are 8mm?

I can see that they have a heat shield/wrapping until about halfway along the chassis, should this follow all the way to the back air bag?
Was thinking it's probably worth covering them up with some heat protective tape.

Those pipes are 6mm

Land Rover made the economy not to wrap all the length of those 2 pipes: one feeding rear RHD air spring and the other feeding the reservoir (eas tank). I usually replace those by rerouting them on the rhd side of the rangie in order to avoid exhaust heat and more dangerous: lack of maintenance by future owners.

Or you could replace them with copper/stainless steel
