rrc transfer gear problems

hi may be a thick question but are the transfer box gears basically same place as a disco box. just asking as its my first rrc 3.5 auto but I just cant move the stick down to where the high ratio normally is. selects low difflock and norm low but stick just wont budge further than neutral. autobox all works fine, had driving but in difflock as rear prop was off when I got it. oh and plus theres no gear knob lol

i'd say the linkage was siezed normall but ive heard a few horror stories from being driven with no prop and in difflock.
you need to get underneath and disconnect the linkage, then see if you can select high/low.

Have you tried changing ratio while rolling forward slowly??

+1 My RRC needs that at times to make the change.

I've tried selecting gear while rocking back/forwards but stick don't even seem to be out of neutral position. thanks

all sorted now guys, ended up the linkage was covered in crap and little stone wedged behind it, got al gears then had to remove engine/box as now up for breaking. thanks for your help

So you fix it and now your breaking it poor vehicle!

na not like that as I brought it for scrap in the first place, tried advertising all complete with no joy so decided to break it
