Classic RRC 200tdi - good price?

Hi,
I have been offered a very nice 1994 Left Hand Drive 200tdi RRC for sale in dark green metallic. It is a hard dash model. It is not in perfect condition, but decent, driveable and not rotten. Has an MOT (well, the equivalent of an MOT). Matching numbers, factory engine. Would probably need around 3-4 k EUR spending on it to make nice.

Priced at 5000 EUR. What do you guys think? Too much? Unfortunately I don´t have any pictures. Viewed it yesterday but forgot to photograph it. From what I gather it is not as desirable as a V8, but better than a VM.

Looking at the prices some Classics go for, sounds OK to me, fix up and sell for a profit.

I'd argue the VM was a smoother and more powerful unit, but yes the asking price is pretty reasonable considering the prices some of those rot boxes fetch nowadays.

Did you go for it?

Personally, as the owner of a 200TDI RRC and a V8, I think it's well worth it. It might not sound as nice as the V8, but it's a hell of a lot more reliable and I get somewhere between 30-40mpg (UK) out of it with a mix of use. It's my daily driver, which I wouldn't do with the V8. 15-20mpg is more like it for a V8.
