My sons mother has a RR 1999 which she bought recently. It was checked by a local garage who gave it a clean bill of health prior to the sale. Today she's got back to the car after a horsey eventy sort of thing and found that some kind soul had backed into the front of the car. The damage was to the lower plastic grill below the bumper, drivers side, which is cracked and pushed in as if a tow ball had done the damage. She noticed what I think is oil dripping from under where the radiator is and that the car was sitting low, but drove home. I called round and the car will not rise up and there appears to be no compressor noises and is sitting pretty much flat on the drivers side and only a little bit up on the other.

She's got to get it checked out but I advised her not to drive it pro tem. Can the car be driven, if gently, with no apparent suspension? She would only have a mile or so to the garage that she uses.

Also could a knock do this? Seems a little far fetched but it was fine before!

Thanks for any help advice you guys can give.

Sitting low on the suspension may not be a problem for a few miles but do check out all the fluids. May be transmission oil dripping out? And only takes 30 seconds to lift bonnet to check brake fluid. Probably not brake fluid but.... Is it an auto? I think the trans oil cooler is on drivers side behind the bumper. Worth getting your knees dirty to look, then check trans oil level. If dropped only a little then top up before a hop round the corner.
