RR Classic door speakers.

Hi all,
I need to replace my door speakers , as they are shot ! I havn't seen any come up on ebay yet , but plenty of p38 ones . Could I fit these ? I know when I replaced the load space speakers with some later ones , the spade connectors were smaller so i had to convert to suit . Would this be a similar case with the fronts. Could I fit aftermarket ones ? If so what type do I search for . Cheers , bob.

yes.i dont know what year etc you have,but 5 inch fit my 87 and 72.

Sorry,its a 92 se vogue , with two speakers in each door (one is a bass speaker i think).

I have the same setup in both my 90 model RRC's. You can buy aftermarket ones from any where that sell ICE. got mine from halfrauds. I used Fusion components all round. lower ones fitted straight in. Upper ones were slightly too large so I moddified the door panel with a scalpal.

My second truck already had aftermarket kenwoods fitted.

Any decent place will let you have to look at speakers and measure them. Make sure you measure the outer width of the upper speakers, I didnt lol.

Also, the lower speakers are low range and the upper ones are mid range. Although you are better off getting a set of cross overs to filter them properly.
Or use door speakers as mid range and fit a set of proper tweeters to get better quality sound.

If your going down that route I'll have a look at my tweeter mounts to see who make them, as they replace the blanking plate on the inside of the door where the mirror is.
