RPM at cold start

Hello.

Is this normal: 2.5 dse 1998. When starting from cold, it starts as soon as heater light goes out no problems, but goes to 1100 rpm tickover. When I press the brake it drops to 900/950 rpm. When it has been running for a couple of minutes no further problems, if the above is a problem, I don't know?
Is this normal? Why should pressing the brake reduce the cold tickover?

Thank's for any feedback

Idle revs of 1,000 to 1,100 are normal immediatly after a cold start, it should fairly quickly drop to 900 +/- 50 from memory. Brake pedal might just be coincidence.

1,100 rpm at cold start is normal. Should warm and run at 750 +- 50 rpm. Rev drop will be alternator being loaded as brake lights come on. Maybe you have a battery problem looming.
