Owner did not realise that he was not supposed to use it, it's designed to sit on the drive for it's pose value and be polished at weekends.

Typical case of the myth that cars that sell well are good buys - the history of motoring is littered with such examples of popular but over-priced & unreliable vehicles. Do the manufacturers bother, of course not, they can sell every one they churn out to poseurs with more money than sense & doesn't the tax man love them!
