Rotting Mudshields. Will It Pass The Mot?

I have a 69 series 2a with rotting mudshields on bothe sides. one has got a big hole and the other 2 finger size holes is it motable like that or will i have to repair them. Also it has series 2 mudshields and not series 2a mudshields any ideas why? Cheers Joel

They are not MOT failures mate. You should have seen the state of mine at the last MOT. They were rotten has hell and even the floor had a hole in it but it sailed through the MOT.
I guess its down to the MOT tester, but your best bet is to find a landy friendly garage.
