Well I wouldn't pay that much for an awning. I am thinking of making my own from a canvas tarp and some metal poles.. Should only cost about £30-50

:D£250was cheap. some awnings r a lot more, with the awning i got u can set up camp very quick 30 ,40 secs job done:D:)

Cant really take much longer to unroll a tarp, push two metal poles in the ground and attach a piece of rope to each can it? If you are happy with it thats all that counts though :p:rolleyes:

Sounds about right - couple of ali tubes fixed to opp ends of tarp...1 tube fixed to roofrack....roll-up / roll-out....couple of ali tent poles to support and couple of simple guy-ropes to stop flying up - 5 mins tops including opening bottle of beer :)

Now you can spend the remaining 200 odd quid on 'stuff' :D
