Roof lights

Hi all I know it's probably been asked a 1000 times but I've been searching and can't find an answer I have put a roof light bar on my d2 wired it all up apart from the live feed for the switch where is best to connect it.

If you mean relay rather than switch then wherever a main beam feed is easiest to get to.

When I go my disco I asked for the driving lamps to be supplied and fitted, later I found that the relay supply connection had been tapped (soldered and sleeved) into the offside headlamp main beam circuit around eight inches from the rear of the bulb, the driving lamp supply was taken via an inline fuse from the engine bay fuse box.
After 19 years the only issue I've had was water entering the relay, five minutes to replace job done.

I'm with @discool the obvious place to find the wire feeding the headlamp main beam to drive the relay coil is on the lampholder.
The roof lights can then be wired, via a suitable inline fuse through the relay contacts.

To pick up a main beam request IMO the simplest is to splice in to pin 5 of C0041, only two screws to remove and the cowl
