Does anyone have or know of a good place to buy a roll over bar for my truck cab ? I ideally want one that goes in the tub just behing the rear windows and is braced backwards.

Plenty of places sell them but first you have to decide what you are after, a cosmetic one which just mounts to the tub or a proper one that is mounted to the chassis?

Sounds like you have already decided on the style you want and lets assume you want a proper chassis mounted one then the likes of Protection And Performance do what you are after but with a bit of internet searching you will find that there are actually lots of manufacturers & suppliers.

In the past I made my own following specs in the ARC handbook and a local engineering company doing the bending but nowadays there are so many places that can supply them off the shelf or even a bespoke one if they don't have exactly what you are after that it isn't worth going down the DIY route.

i quite fancy one.. but just want a hoop to the chassis behind the front seats in my 110. how dear are we talking?

Whitbread offroad do a weld in kit Blueband steam barrell for serious CCV tough as old boots competition. or use CDS for light weight racer but bewary as these can deform more easy tan Blue band. Make sure if you intend on using it for anything that it conforms to the regulations. We always suggest its buiult to ARC regs i.e (6mm)and then you are covered for all the events.

Cosmetic one well take your pic I personally wouldn't. If you want a cage I'd do a propper cage not a pretend one.

What is 6mm?, I aggree with only doing proper cages, imagine a cosmetic one braking away deforming and spearing the inhabitants

6mm, is that wall thickness on the tube,I build chop frames in me spare time and been considering making a cage up for my 90 and then maybe making the odd one to sell.

MINIMUM SPEC:

Minimum it must conform to BS187, 3.2mm wall thickness, 48mm O/D Baseplate can be 3.2mm but any other bracket or plate muct be 6.4mm or 1/4 inch mounting hole size must be minimum 9.6mm or 3/8 inch HTS.

Woulda been easier to copy and paste this bit Doh!

3.1. The minimum material specification for all tubing will be nominal 38mm / 1½" bore steel "blue band" tubing to BS 1387. (This will actually be nearer 42mm / 15/8") This has a minimum wall thickness of 3.2mm / 1/8" and a minimum outside diameter of 48.3mm / 17/8". See table below for practical imperial and metric stock sizes. Tensile strength will be between 320 - 416 N/mm2. Yield strength will be at least 195N/mm2. Tubing which exceeds this specification is recommended where the outside diameter at least matches the above type and a minimum nominal wall thickness of 2.5mm where the quality and origin can be traced.”

Be wary there is also a new regulation which may or may not be in those regs. Many of the old comp guys are removing and rebuilding their front hoops as it must not be angled or raked back any more than the windscreen of the vehicle.

i'll have a word with my steel supplier next time i see him probably in the new year now and ask what he's got with regards to these specs ,cheers jai.

I'm trying to finda decent suplier down here but getting expensive I think I managed to get it down to £20 odd per 6 meter length but thats without delivery. I could do with 4 lengths tbh

last lot i had was 6 months ago for 50x6ft lengths of 38mm o/d 3mm cost me 50 quid ,i just told the old boy what it was for and what it needed to cope with and he got me a still full but as it's a stock holders and these were off cuts you can wait a while for the right stuff but as a sideline it's not such a problem.

Worth a note: Some scaffolding exceeds the specs. But to be passed as safe and log booked by scruteneer they will need to see quality work. Jo bloggs with his little 80A welder and a rough scaffold pole cage will be laughed all the way home. Material should be new or as new condition.

CDS I avoid myself because I have seen it deform and the guys told they cannot continue so I will not use CDS because if this. In a high performance comp safari racer where weight really matters then yes its gotta be worth while but anything we do bouincing off trees and the odd hanging from your seat belts I much prefer blueband.
