Hi, what is the current cost for 6/12 months road fund license on a R/R 4.6 hse N reg. It has just bee converted to LPG so wondered if this alters the tax bracket or is it just done by the age and size of engine ?

Regards

Fu@king government W@n#ers the lot of them!!!!! and whats more half of them have probably got one themselves or their partners but because they can claim all the expenses back then who cares!!!

i drove from ireland to malaga in spain and going through france cost me about €1200 on tolls and fuel, 2 days of driving through france cost me 1 years road tax...... think id rather pay €1200 for the year.....!:D

I've driven quite a few times through France and its cost me more than a years road tax there and back on a few occasions. Most of the time they have been exellent roads and you can cover some serious mileage in a much more relaxed manner than the M25, M1, M6 etc,etc

Don't know where you get your figures from, I go to the UK once a year, costs me about €38 each way if I use the Autoroute. However the National routes are rarely crowded away from the big cities and cost nothing, so I often use the Nationals instead of the Autoroute, much more interesting.

Difference is, I have the choice, with UK Road Tax you have no choice if you want to be legal:D

I drove down to Meribel last feb and it cost £160 return. In two mnds, if you do alot of motorway driving the autorouts were great, but for occasional use they are expensive, that trip just about covers the road tax in the UK, oh and threre's the fuel on top of that. But it was cheaper, three up, split the fuel costs, ferry crossing and toll roads than getting a flight.

We did a bit of a Topgear run, another friend left at a similar time drove to Manchester Airport, waiting for his flight, flight time and transfere time, we drove to dover and ferry over to calais and down to Meribel, three of use split the driving non stop and beat the flight by 4 hours, he did have a 2 hour delay at manchester, so it would have been close if he was on time.
On the return when we left it was snowing heavily, but we drve on, no prob's, guess what his flight was delayed again, ha ha and we beat them home!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Landrover's Rule - oh i was in my gaylander that i had at the time, obiously wised up and got the full fat rangie.
