Think I may know the answer to this already but jusy in case it may be simpler than that.
When I select reverse there is a long beep, light flashes on the button and then stops... Can't hear ticking noise from any of them?
Nothing else happens 55 plate, Td4

Does the FL1 have front sensors? Can't remember. If so, front and rear have subtly different tones.
The sensors are vulnerable to muck and water getting up under the bumpers. It's a case of identifying the knackered one, checking the connections and replacing it if necessary.
They can also beep continuously if anything is stuck to the face of the sensor: mud, leaves, and even water. Try cleaning the sensor faces.
Check they are all secure and aligned correctly as well.

Why would they click? Whichever way I go into reverse (auto) there is a beep and nothing else until they sense something behind, then I get a very loud beep, beep beep, beepbeep, beepbeepbeep, beeeeeeeeeeeep, thud - well only thud when I forget the wheel bolted to the back..... Definitely no clicking!

The click can be heard from each sensor if you put your ear to it, but only when the ignition is at position 2 as in engine off and reverse selected. If no clicking then the sensor is not working..

Tried that with mine and can't hear anything. Could be my hearing though as I know I struggle to hear high frequencies.

Removed rear bumper to try and find answer to similar problem to original post , reverse sensors not working.
All connectors clean and no corrosion, see what happened when I removed one:oops:. Yes I should have pushed from the outside of the bumper!! It just clips back together and looks like new again
There was fairly hard foam inside and I am wondering how these sensors pick up the signal and is there a way of testing them off the vehicle?
