reverse gear is very hard to get now on the gaylander u realy have to heave the gearstick into its gate. and sometimes when it is in place a sort of light graunching noise can be heard as if the coggs were only just scraping one another. whats wrong with it ?
thanks

could be your slave cylinder isnt separating the clutch plate enough. usually reverse is 1 of the first gears to be difficult to get when this starts to go

Some modern Gearboxes have a syncro for reverse gear, if your clutch isn’t disengaging properly the gearbox shafts still rotate maybe just a little too fast to engage, try engaging 1st first then reverse, the 1st gear syncro will slow the shaft down and may help to engage reverse,

cool thanks for all the help the cluch pedal is getting very low to the floor now is this causing any problems? with the reverse gear?
putting it in to 1st first off does seem to help thanks.

If your clutch pedal is getting low to the ground to change gears then it sound as if...

a) Your have a worn out clutch.

or

b) Your Clutch master or servo cylinder is knackered (Have you checked the fluid levels in the clutch resevoir)
