Here's mine. The Treks have been on my last 2 Freelanders. The tyres are almost out now, but they have done over 30K miles!

I do like them! I was thinking about the 17" triple sport style, as I currently have the 16" version of the same on the car, and it seems to match the 1990s styling of the car in general :)

Customer service chappie on 4x4tyres has gone quiet on me after I pointed out that they had more than one style of modular steel wheel listed on their website... so now not sure what the centre bore diameter of the 5x114.3 ET35 wheel is... Perhaps I need to contact the manufacturer...?

Nodge, these are the wheels I am thinking of:

Shame only 4, otherwise a good price for wheels delivered to my door step I think (although they do show curbing damage)

Triple sports match the pre-facelift well. The rounded spokes go with the rounded bumper corners.
The more angular Trek spokes match the more angular style of the facelift.

Price is representative of condition tbh. They do crop up for less, but you'll have to wait.
That amount of curb damage is easy to repair. You can even get the correct paint for the job ;)

If it had the 5th wheel as a spare, I think I'd have bought it there and then!

Still, I have a cover for the spare: you'd never know ;)

I have a 16" spare with a new Michelin Synchrone fitted. I never got round to fitting a matched tyre to to my 5th Trek. Now the tyres are almost out, I can't decide what to fit. I'll fit 5 matching tyres at some point

I like the bigger wheels, and I like the greater offset that should fill the daft body kitted wheel arches better. But I still quite hanker after the modular style - but only if I can get an appropriate spigot adapter ring to suit. Time to have some thinks... :)

I have put around 250 miles on the Hippo these last couple of days drive to and back from Wiltshire. No coolant loss, and the oil level is stable and still looking honey coloured. :)

Not entirely fault free though.

Under heavy load (high gear, low engine speed, open throttle) I can readily provoke a miss fire. Weak spark. Oddly, the misfire isn't recorded on the MEMS error log, but there is a camshaft position sensor error recoded. Odd.

I have cleared that fault this morning, and it doesn't recur (unlike the evaporative circuit short that I need to investigate).

When warm, still getting the misfire when the engine is warm, so I think this is a coil pack or HT issue. On live data, getting most of the misfires on cylinder 3, so have precautionarily replace pack 2. Need to take for another test drive now :)

The other problem is the reappearance of the three amigos:

With early provocation of the TC and occasional early operation of the ABS, I am wondering about a speed sensor, but reading the fault codes should help narrow this down...

Oh, and I have a know from the off side front over a bump with left lock applied. Ball joint or something else do you think?

Otherwise, other than tyre or bearing noise the little hippo was pretty impressive. Much tauter down the roads and twisties than I'd have imagined! The car has its own gait - it's no sports car - built a hoon to thread down a country road. The driving position is good and the kids in the back have plenty of space and a decent view out.

Some off road tyres and perhaps 17" wheels to come! :)

Glad you're enjoying the fruits of your labours at last. :)
Have you changed the coil packs? I found changing mine made a big difference.

Hi Ali,
Yes, I had a spare one sitting around so have fitted that. Not yet tried the car: supervising my daughter's birthday party! Lol

Replacing the coil pack seems to have done the trick: I can't now provoke the misfire :)

Spoken the Philip (he of pscan fame): we shall have a look at the three amigos problem in the new year :)

I continue to suspect that the bearing noise is a bearing noise rather than tyres: if I had a spare set of tyres, this hypothesis would be easy to test - but at the moment I don't. So now I'll have to scour fleabay for a set of suitable 17"s ;) (man maths again! lol ;))
