This year the old girl is getting a make over. The extent of which will include new doors and a full respray. I have sourced a supplier for the doors but cannot decide which doors to opt for. There are 2 types which cost exactly the same:

1) DEFENDER 90 110 LH GALVANISED PUSH BUTTON DOOR (ALUMINIUM SKIN)
The frame has been galvanised to give it the best possible anti corrosion properties in the same process that Land Rover now galvanise their latest Puma rear and front doors. This is also the case for the inside of the frames too. The door skin has also been painted in primer before fitting to the frame to prevent corrosion of the aluminium skin as on standard doors the skins and frame are bare metal which leads to the corrosion that plagues so many doors!
The galvanised frame is marine bonded prior to fitting the aluminium skin to stop the two surfaces rubbing together. This stops any drumming effect & makes the door feel alot stronger & tighter all around. It also acts as another barrier between the 2 different metals

2) DEFENDER 90 110 LH GALVANISED PUSH BUTTON DOOR (GALV STEEL SKIN)
This has been galvanised to give it the best possible anti corrosion properties in the same process that Land Rover now galvanise their latest Puma rear and front doors. This is also the case for the inside of the frames too. The door skin is also galvanised so in essence you have the perfect door.

Which would be the better purchase and why. To me both have pros and cons which makes my decision a tough one. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Wish I'd gone galv door. Didn't think about galv at the time, it's very popular to galv everything now.
I would be tempted with galv frame and galv skin. Why? Because aluminium can still oxidise and the aluminium skins are only in primer.
What advantages and disadvantages are making you unsure?

Weight is one and just how much advantageous the galvanised steel skins are over the premiered aluminium ones.

Id buy genuine Puma doors from a Breaker. For the price you are looking at, you will get a full door inc glass / regulator and seals
