Oh god not another Amigos thread! :frusty:

Bear with me guys,

Got the 3 Amigos on Sunday while driving. I've had them come on a couple of times before and they've always gone back off after a while or with a quick switch off, however these have stayed on permanently so decided to look into it some more today.

I don't have Nanocom or the like to pinpoint the exact fault code so I started by jacking each wheel in turn and running the car on the spot in first. Front left and both rear wheels showed 15ish MPH on the speedo but the front right wheel wouldn't read anything so I suspected that was the problem ABS sensor.

For ease I replaced the full ABS sensor, hub and half shaft assembly with a used one I had left over from a D2 I broke recently (It had no amigo faults before breaking).

I still have all 3 lights and the wheel is still not reading anything on the speedo when jacked up. Is the SLABS ECU ignoring that sensor until the fault is cleared?

Do the lights need clearing via OBD? Will disconnecting the battery overnight reset the SLABS ECU?

Thanks in advance :tea:

The SLABS ECU has strange behaviours from time to time...i mean it doesnt do what the builder claims it must for example on sensor faults the 3 amigos must go away if the fault is not there anymore,(TC and HDC on ignition cycle and ABS after 10mph was exceeded)...but it doesnt happen this way all the time i saw several cases when the amigos went away only by clearing the code with tester...now if it's a case like that and the logged memory blocks the active memory in EEPROM is possible to be a fault code logged for that sensor and that's why you dont get the reading...or there's a wiring issue between the sensor and the ECU...itr's hard to diagnose this way you better find somebody close to you with tester and plug it in

disconnecting the battery doesnt affect the ECU memory or warning lamp management whatsoever...at least it's not supposed to

i have but you better download RAVE for the future if you want to do this kind of "rudimentary" diagnose;), corroborate the attachment with these:
