Morning all, I've a 2002 Disco TD5 ES with rather a lot of stone chips in the windscreen. I've been offered a replacment for a good price but it looks like a big job plus I assume I'll need to purchase new windscreen sealant rubber (if that's what they're called?). To remove and replace, is it a job a half novice can do themselves with a couple of friends, Ive changed clutches, brakes, etc but not too sure how to tackle this one? Anyone tried it?

Cheers
Al

Had mine done couple weeks ago.I do not think its a diy job tbh.Its bonded and you need special equip to remove it and all the solvents and gear to fit it correctly.

Get it done proffesionally. Much of the protection offered in the event of a rollover is attributed to the windscreen.
Yes it's quite a job, and the finishers on the sides are also fiddly to get right. Had mine done twice on the insurance - first one sent a man in a van who didn't do too well - after a while one of the finishers fell off on the M20 and it leaked. Second time took it in and left it overnight. Seems to be a good job so far and only £50.00 for the excess. Your insurance should cover it, assuming the chips can't be repaired.
