typically a 5 minute job is taking all day.
I can undo the castellated nut, no problem (there wasnt a split pin:eek:), but cannot undo the two 3/8" bolts which hold the joint to the A frame.
I have undone the nuts on the A frame ball joint holder to A-frame arms, but cannot undo the bolts. Are they threaded into the A frame or just corroded in solid? I have tried undoing them, welting the ends with a universal removal tool - all to no avail - next step is removing the A-frame and I can see removing the pivot bolts aint gonna be easy either.

Anyone done this job and can give me any tips - as usual Staines manwell aint any good - else it cud be a trip to the local independant:eek::rolleyes:

the only spanner which fits well on the two small bolt heads is a 3/8" AF - 10mm wont fit , neither will 8mm. I dont want to shear the buggers orf, coz that will knacker me completely. All I seem to have achieved is damaging the rubber gaiter!!!!

Niether of the wishbone end bits are threaded on me 90 an I reckon it's just rust wots stopping em coming out. If they're the original bolts they should be imperial though if the bolt head is that corroded then the next size down metric socket brayed on might be your best bet. An get a load of heat on the fecker that'll fettle it.

blurry fookin ****in Land Rover - its goin into the local Indy this week - i is spending more on broken tools than an indy wud charge me to do it!!!
2 fookin jobs to do this w/e - A-Frame ball joint and front drop-arm ball joint. Smashed the biggest fookin splitter i got and its just sittin there sniggering.

Bastid thing - someone else can do it :mad:
