Replacing K1.8 with KV6 - Waste of time/money?

Can't cope with the jealously everytime I drive my other half's KV6 5 door kiddie-bus when I get back into my K1.8 it just doesn't 'GO'...

Anyone had any experience changing the engine over to a KV6 or whether they'd advise it? I did see a post somewhere about some of the later MG V6 engines being a good alternative but I'm not so sure about the mountings.....

Either this or I move to the desert and trade the wife in for a good camel...

you know the stories about the 1.8 blowing head gaskets?

well.... think about cutting a 4 pot 1.8 down to 3 pot, welding two of them side by side to make a V6, and then mounting it across the engine bay so the rearmost one cant get cooled - and you have a KV6!

If you want to change the 1.8 for anything else - change it for the 2.0Litre T220 turbo - its the best, most reliable engine you can fit - and fairly easily.

V6 transplant, now theres a project with your work cut out for you!

Everything must go with the V-block, wiring harness, induction, exhaust, auto gearbox, the full works.

You only get 172bhp from the V6, You could do some add ons to the 1.8 (120bhp)

Remove the rubber air intake ducting and plastic funnel inside the airbox.
Fit panel performance air filter
Decat pipe
Alum throttle body 52mm + vader induction kit
4-2-1 exhaust manifold
Rework the valves and head injection ports
Piper cams
Emerald aftermarket rechip

That will take you close to 200bhp, I have started with the free items at the top getting to the progressively expensive items at the bottom of your shopping list

would that be yer Dishdashs, yer Sharqyat, or perhaps yer Kaftans
