Mine too, but the base [no puns please] of the speakers are attached to a steel plate inside the box and they will not come out.

I think mine looks like this one on eBay with screws, but was not in that sorry state !
Definitely did not have any issues replacing the speakers with standard 6.5" units.

My Sub-woofer unit is indeed the sort you need to pull apart.
No idea how you get the buggre off the mounts and out of the car yet and Rave is as useful as a chocolate fireguard for this.

It's hidden in the Chassis & Body section in RAVE. P959 in Workshop Manual 2000.
i.e. remove the trim panel complete with Sub, and then separate them.

TA! I can see the 2 top fixings, its the bottom one that was hidden from me.
I am really not keen on pulling all this apart, but it seems it must be done in order to get it all "sound" [pun] again.
I love the car, it's just such a POS in some respects. Mechanically fine but anything made of rubber is falling to bits.

I repaired mine with bogroll and inner tube glue. Did Elliotts as well. A year ago for Elliotts and about four for mine.
