I have missplaced, put down or generally lost one of the keys for my '53 plate discovery 2. Local main dealer has quoted £95:00 +VAT for a replaceemnt key and fob then 'about £40' to program it, presumably so that it will opperate the immobiliser etc..

Having looked aroun the forum I noted that several people had bought replacement keys and fobs off e-bay then had them cut at other places (shoe repairers etc..)

Bit nervous about buying a dud key of e-bay, has anyone got a supplier that they are happy to recommend having used them for replacement keys and does anyone know if it can be programmed to the car by anyone with a nanocom?

Any (helpful) comments greatly received as usual. Thanks

You can buy a blank key blade for peanuts of ebay and a second-hand fob for next to nothing.

You can then program your 2nd hand fob with Nanocom using the code number inside the fob.
