Key and Fob Programming

Can anyone recommend a locksmith around Dudley West Midlands who can program or clone my Freelander 1 key and program an extra fob. Just the fob programing would be a good start as I already have a couple of secondhand fobs. Timpsons have said they may be able to do the key but want me to buy a new fob from them.

Just a thought, maybe you can do it yourself. You can sometimes borrow or rent a programmer mail order. You can find them on EBAY etc.

RemoteKey can provide u with the fob and loan u the programmer depending on the style of fob. Have a look at there site. They don’t cut key blades profiles. https://remotekey.co.uk/land-rover-freelander-key-fob-replacment/

This doesn't sound very promising. Just spoke to Lanchester Landrover dealer Wolverhampton and they say the key can no longer be ordered from them pre programed from the vin only cut and I would have to get it programed by someone else. The remote is much simpler to get done. Another worrying thing is that I started looking into these key transponders (PCF7930 AS in my key) and some data sheets say that they can start to lose the data after about 20 years. I can get a transponder cloner fairly cheap but I need to know what the chip id is first (ie id46 id72 or whatever) before getting it to make sure it can be cloned)

Someone with a hawkeye should be able to add fobs and keys, and delete the ones yer don't have which are currently saved to the Freelander 1.
