Replacement Catalytic Converters 1.8

Does anyone have experience of using non Landrover CC's ?. I failed an emissions test & the mechanic fitted a Cat made by Eurocat Catalytic Converters from European Exhaust&Catalyst Ltd. My emissions went up !.

I have been told that the original CC was over engineered - maybe that's why they get knicked !. It is certainly twice the weight of the Landy one.

Has anyone used a pattern CC ?.

The vehicle is a 2000 1.8

Only ever used OE CATS myself, some aftermarket sports CATS will have slightly higher emissions.

What happens when you put the old lambda sensor on? Has the new one altered fuel mix?.......just a thought

Sometimes with new aftermarkets the emissions rise initially & the car has to be taken out for a longish hard run before they settle down. This happened with my old Rav a few years ago.
