As the recent Range Rover models look more like whoofter wagons, I suggest this section be renamed "Qashqai", as they're all starting to look the same......
Since the evouge is based on the freelander and does loosly look simler one would think it should be called the freelander evouge
But of cause and freelander name could never match the rangerover name price wise
Can somone up a side byside of the evouge and new freelander and a normal rangerover?
(im on my phone)
Can't choose yer family I suppose!!On the risk of being banned, my mother loves her qashqai.![]()

The whole point of a Range Rover is to have something special...to own something to aspire to.....you guys are rather "Rude" with the Evoque. Granted the Evoque is not a "Range Rover" not much as the Freelander, but not "Everybody" Can afford a Range Rover, here in Japan the 2013 RR entry model cost 82,000£ while an Evoque cost 30,000£ Almost as much as the Freelander or 6k£ more than a Nissan X-Trail, Subaru Forester and honestly between these and an Evoque I will go for the EVOQUE!!!
I did not had the chance to test the Evoque yet, beside a quick run, but for most this is an amazing little car with nice 4x4 capability for MOST people and look way nicer than its competitors.
I love my P38, I really do, but beside going to ski and driving in 20+ cm of snow once a year I do not do much 4x4 with my car and the Evoque will do just fine.
I remember when the first gen Discovery arrived on the market I wanted to throw-up and was wondering why on earth what happen to LR??? Look at the first Gen Discovery it seems at that time that LR hired Japanese people and came with a fake Toyota Land/Pajero combo Cruiser look a like, and look again at the 2013 Discovery and you have to admit that the car look much better.

Yes they are expensive - but they are expensive for a reason....to ensure those that want one really really want one and are willing to sacrafice for one, to prove their worthyness to owning one....
They are not for everyone, so saying that 'Not everybody can afford a Range Rover....' is the whole point.....
If everyone could afford one, then there would be nothing special about them....
The Evoque has dragged the Range Rover name into the mire by making it more accessable to the 'masses' - but that is not what Range Rover is about.....
I am certainly not a brand worshipper - I have explained numerous times where my love of Land Rovers has come from - as a young lad standing in a museum staring in awe at a Desert Rat Land Rover thinking it was the best thing ever....I then read books and cut out pictures from magazines all about Land Rovers and Range Rovers....this is before I had any concept of money, brands, social status or 'keeping up with the Joneses'....What a load of bollocks, the only thing "special" about Land Rover products is their unreliability. The name means nothing except to brand worshipers.
Oh and the Evoque is the ugliest thing on 4 wheels I've seen in a very long time, worse even than the BL land Crab.
