Hi/
I have just purchased a Rangerover 4.6 biography LPG V reg. The car is absolutey a dream. It has though a suspension conversion to air bags that can be pumped up maunually. This is fine but is there any way of removing the fact it says on the dash ECU fault max speed 35 MPH. There is no fault just says there is one.

Anyones help would be really good:)

Cheers

Fix the fault with the EAS and make it work properly, it's not that difficult. For starters Download the free EAS software from www.rswsolutions.com to find out what the fault is that caused the use of manual inflation.

Put your location, then if you need help sorting it you may find there is someone nearby.

Yip, you should read the faults inside the ECU.

It will probably tell you that the pump isn't giving (enough) compression... That is also the reason why you are manually pumping up the airsprings...

Revision kits for this pump are available at low cost.

The manual inflation kits are usually for emergencies only - they're not intended to replace the EAS. All EAS systems will leak to a certain extent and you're likely to end up with all four corners at different heights after a few days with potentially disasterous effects on handling/braking/etc.

If the person that sold you the car told you that it was a proper conversion then they misled you, presumably to cover up the fact that the EAS has a fault.

As others have advised, you would be much better off finding out what is wrong with the EAS and fixing it. There is plenty of help available on here.

Do you know if the EAS components are still in place? I heard of someone in the US that had been sold one with this 'conversion' to cover up the fact that the previous owner had removed most of the EAS equipment.

You can actually buy a wiring loom type thing which will get rid of the error message (used when the car is converted to coil springs - another bad idea), but I think you're asking for trouble continuing to run it permanently on your emergency inflation system.

I have to agree with Guy. I have the manual inflation valves fitted as well and they're extremely useful for getting you out of trouble should the system put you on the bumpstops which it sounds as though yours has done if it's coming up with the max 35mph message. It's not a 'conversion' though. (By the way Guy, I enquired about a cheap P38 on Ebay a few month back that was advertising the same 'conversion' - sure enough, no compressor, no valve block etc - it wasn't yours though shells as it was much earlier). As the man says, you need to get the faults read and rectified before you can go any further.

Hi/
Thanks for all the support.
The eas pump and equipment is there I will get the codes read.
I find it strange though as the car is in execellent condition inside and out It has full service history and the LPG certificate. It runs perfect. I wonder why this was chosen as it is a cheap get out.
