Hi peeps wonder if you could help freelander 1 1997 diesel 2,0ltr driving home chugged a bit felt likefuel contam checked it all aokay now the red engine light on and wont start turns over easy belts are okay fuel at injectors as bled it all through just dont know where to go now could do with a little help please cheers:doh:

Okay, the first thing to check is this. Switch on the ignition. Now, with the bonnet open, can you hear the sound of a motor running? It should be the fuel pump at the front of the engine.

One thing to query, the engine management light is orange. Are you sure your light is red or is it something else. Check this, its important.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi folks just in good newsread all the probs on the forum last night about the engine light on and low and behold the block connector at the back of the fuel pump has a bad connection to one of the wires once fixed turned the key and away she went so cheers to all who had positive things and sorry to say old irish wulf aint no heap got over 157000 miles and still going good apart from small hiccups and also get over 40 mpg tows a 21ft caravan over a 1000 miles round trip every year as well as used 6 days a week 106miles per day better than some others all in the way you look after the lady lol

naw mean 40+ on its own lol get about 28/32 with caravan on but swear down on useing an engine treatment called restore used it for years and reckon it does help ?but each to their own little things

no its a oil additive called restore it actually fills in the small scratches and such in the barrels and improves your actual pressure in the cylinder so thus improving your mpg this has been tested and as i have said my engine now has 157000 miles on it and still feels as good as new as in acceleration and mpg i tried it out years ago as was told about it and thought here goes another gimmick but was surprised with the improvement after about 800 miles now use it all the time takes two cans first time and then one can there after to treat the engine i dont mind as it saves the wear on the engine and alot cheaper than replacing the worn out parts you can buy it on ebay amust for the 4x4s i think anyway let me know if you try it and what you think cheers
