Recomended garages in beds or herts

Can anybody recomeend a good garage in this area, having a worrying problem with my TD5 keeps cutting out, tried all usual stuff worn looms, checked for oil in injector loom etc and still no joy. On my second garage and already £700 down and it still doesn't start. previous diagnostics dont appear to show any faults. When it cuts out its like you switched it off, no coughs, no splutters etc and help would be most welcome ladies and Gents.

Woodside garage are very good or foley have been good to me!
Both landrover specialists and been around a few years!!

Woodside are good, as are Autoland in Luton.

Not a Land Rover specialist, but they seriously know their stuff when it comes to diesel engines, try these guys: iesel Servicing & Repairs, Diagnostics for Ford, Vauxhall, Mercedes, Light Goods , Vans Cars and Small Buses

They sorted mine out perfect.

Try Harris Mayes in Rickmansworth Herts - 01923 711800. They have all of the diagnostic software, and are dead sensible about courtesy cars. They specialise in LR models and have looked after both mine for years - a TD5 110 and a RRC LSE.
Ask to speak to Peter Harris Mayes - he has forgotten more about LandRovers than I`ll ever know

I have used ajd land rovers in hoddesdon a couple of times and they were very good. They know their stuff and also are not too pricey, can't say fairer than that.

I remember paying £15 for a gasket on a Sunday when they used to be open. Man I'm glad the days of being desperate for a gasket and paying 15 times the price are over

Yea but I had no choice I needed the gasket was all out of gasket paper. Had to fit my transferbox on the Sunday as I needed it running that night to help layout and marshall a bank holiday national event.

JJ Knew this and priced acordingly. Personally I wouldn't go there don't know why they have been there a long time and always breaking landys but have seemed on ocassion very expensive compared to Bill at Autoland but I guess I've only ever gone there when desperate for parts. aSible you should know me I refuse to pay somone else to work on any of my vehicles as workmanship these days seems lacking. I went to college with loads of traniee mechanics and the guys we took the **** out of big stylee for knowing owt passed with flying colours and I'm buggered if I'm paying them or similar knobs to not understand how to fix my vehicle.

Every man and his dog seem to be mechanics now days. If you have farted near a spanner you are somehow qualified.

A true Engineer or somone that fully understands how stuff works able to judge wear and put physics to their advantage is worth a million so called Mechanics Old school Engineers or somone with serious Mechanical knowlegde out ranks a mechanic especially one thats a kwik fit or similar bodge it and scarper mech

My landy has never seen a garage for that reason!! I worked at a garage for a little while and got told off for doing things properly (takes to long and customer won't know!!) can u believe it!!

Come to think about it the problem is the wages are **** and work on a bonus scheme so they knock it in and out but I took my time and explained to the customer what I have done and what they need soon not rip them off so they come back and ask for me and get a nice tip every time. Use to earn more in a day in back handers than wages

Might fit my OBA tomorrow well after digging the front garden loads more. I do need to get hold of a shiny new 3/4 BSP manifold might have to visit screwfix me thinks! Oh and I bet the pipe I have from the Compressor is not rated high enough temp rating for the compressor might be visiting Pirtek aswell! Doh!

Tell me about it, last year my 90 failed its mot on a bit of welding which the same garage then did, picked it up and 500 yds up the road noticed a grinding so went straight back and the wheel nuts on front left had about 2 turns to go before the wheel fell off. Incompetent numpties!
